Join our dynamic team as an Intermediate Mechanical or Integrated Engineer, supporting our growing Pilot Production Facility. In this hands-on role, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams—design, quality, development, and manufacturing—to translate engineering needs into real-world solutions that enhance product quality, reliability, and production efficiency. You'll also coordinate contractors onsite and contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes and equipment.

We're looking for someone who brings strong engineering expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. A commitment to safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence is essential.

What You’ll Do

Systems, Equipment, & Maintenance

  • Install, commission, and maintain building systems and plant equipment, including HVAC, dehumidification systems, vacuum gloveboxes, compressed air systems, and custom electrochromic window manufacturing tools
  • Perform both preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across mechanical, plumbing, and basic carpentry systems
  • Diagnose equipment issues, recommend improvements, and implement solutions using repair manuals, design drawings, and parts catalogs
  • Repair or replace faulty components using appropriate hand and power tools
  • Manage procurement of parts, supplies, and tools as needed to maintain operational readiness

Project Execution & Engineering

  • Support the design, fabrication, and integration of custom R&D and manufacturing equipment
  • Write, execute and own project plans, including defining scope, timeline, and budget
  • Lead small-to-medium technical projects from concept through completion with minimal supervision
  • Participate in the planning and execution of the new Demonstration Plant facility

Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate closely with R&D, materials, integration, testing, and manufacturing teams to support process and product development
  • Liaise with contractors, consultants, vendors, and equipment manufacturers to ensure project alignment and technical success
  • Communicate project updates and technical findings through regular presentations and briefings to cross-functional stakeholders

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all plant safety policies, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and general lab protocols
  • Promote and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Integrated, Maintenance Engineering, or a related field
  • 4–6 years of relevant hands-on engineering experience
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred) for equipment/component design
  • Familiarity with electrochromic materials and devices is an asset, but not required
  • Previous project management and contractor management experience an asset

Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with mechanical systems and equipment
  • Experience disassembling, troubleshooting, and repairing technical systems independently
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and implement actionable improvements
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills to manage multiple projects efficiently
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment with shifting priorities
  • Experience working with hand and power tools; ability to lift and carry 50 lbs

Competencies

  • Self-starter with strong accountability, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under tight deadlines
  • Hands-on, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving and design
  • Creative thinker with an agile mindset and willingness to take initiative
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to cross-functional teams
  • Comfortable collaborating with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • High regard for workplace safety and commitment to company policies, including Quality Assurance and OHSE standards
  • Personal interest in technical hobbies (e.g., mechanics, machining, electronics, woodworking) is a strong asset

Please Note

  • This position requires full-time, in-office presence at our Olympic Village location.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed

Salary Range: $98,000 - $115,000
