Position Overview:

As a Casual Material Handler, you will be responsible for all major material movements within the production facility. You will ensure all moves are made in a safe manner and are properly recorded/input into the warehouse management systems.

Job Description:

  • Transport and distribute materials and goods within the facility
  • Pick and stock orders
  • Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment
  • Pack and unpack goods
  • Install, lash, and secure goods
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 months working in Wage Grade 1 or higher.
  • Reach Truck, Narrow aisle, and Picker Truck experience is preferred.
  • Must be able to prioritize numerous demands and possess good time management skills
  • Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Familiar with computer/tablet use; basic understanding of Microsoft suite is preferred
  • Preference will be given to candidates with accredited reach truck/forklift certification.
  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator.
  • Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner and comply in all aspects of the organizations policies and procedures.
