Position Overview We are seeking a Loss Prevention Agent entrusted with conducting surveillance, implementing loss prevention strategies, investigating incidents, and mitigating risks to our store.
The successful candidate will work with store management to maintain a safe shopping environment for customers and staff, contributing to maintaining our store’s reputation for excellence.
Reporting to the Loss Prevention Supervisor, the Loss Prevention Agent will be bondable and ensure a seamless experience for our valued customers.

Responsibilities Surveillance and Monitoring
- Monitor the store’s premises through CCTV cameras and physical patrols to detect and deter suspicious activities.
- Maintain a solid presence on the sales floor to deter potential thefts and provide visible security.
Loss Prevention Strategies
- Implement and enforce loss prevention policies and procedures to minimize inventory shrinkage, including but not limited to, theft, fraud, and employee-related concerns.
- Identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements in security systems and procedures.
Incident Investigation
- Conduct investigations into incidents of theft, fraud, or any other security breaches, ensuring all evidence is properly collected, documented, and reported.
- Work closely with law enforcement agencies, when required, to facilitate investigations and provide necessary information.
Customer Service and Training
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers and staff with security-related concerns, answering questions, and providing guidance on loss prevention best practices.
- Train store employees on loss prevention awareness, including identifying suspicious behaviour, reporting incidents, and maintaining security protocols.
Safety and Emergency Response
- Monitor and respond to potential safety hazards or emergency situations promptly.
- Assist in managing emergency procedures, including evacuation protocols, first aid, and crisis management.
Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with store management and cross-functional teams to develop and implement loss prevention strategies.
- Maintain effective communication channels with management, employees, and external stakeholders to ensure a safe and secure retail environment.
Skills And Experience You Will Need
- Post-secondary education.
- Proven experience in loss prevention, security, or a related field, preferably in a retail environment.
- Solid knowledge of loss prevention techniques, security systems, and best practices.
- Excellent observation and surveillance skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to make quick decisions and remain calm under pressure.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with customers and staff.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in using security equipment and systems, including CCTV cameras and alarm systems.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
