About the role

Bell and Valet Team Members are responsible for providing exceptional guest service by greeting and welcoming guests, assisting with luggage, and offering information about hotel amenities and local attractions. They ensure smooth arrivals and departures, arranging transportation and valet services as needed. Additionally, they maintain the cleanliness of the lobby and collaborate with other hotel departments to meet guest needs. Their role is crucial in creating a memorable and personalized guest experience.

Ideal Candidate

Someone with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, providing a warm and professional guest experience. They should be personable, proactive, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. A strong attention to detail, good problem-solving abilities. A passion for hospitality along with exceptional and safe driving and parking skills are essential to ensure seamless Bell & Valet services and guest satisfaction.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Greet arriving and departing guests warmly, open doors, and offer a friendly welcome.
  • Communicate parking procedures clearly, ensuring smooth traffic flow and efficient vehicle management.
  • Safely park and retrieve guest vehicles, following company and safety protocols.
  • Assist with luggage handling, including loading, unloading, and delivering to guest rooms promptly.
  • Escort guests to their rooms, explain room amenities, and ensure a seamless arrival experience.
  • Provide accurate directions and information on hotel amenities, services, local attractions, and events.
  • Ensure the security of vehicles, keys, and stored luggage, and maintain an organized storage system for quick retrieval.
  • Inspect vehicles for pre-existing damage before parking and document any issues.
  • Assist guests with mobility needs, offering help with doors, luggage, or providing wheelchairs when required.
  • Offer umbrella service during inclement weather and maintain a positive attitude in all interactions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the valet and parking areas, ensuring they remain free of hazards.
  • Adhere to traffic laws and safety regulations while operating guest vehicles, reporting any security concerns or safety hazards immediately.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency while remaining calm during peak periods, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Act with integrity and professionalism, fostering positive relationships with guests and team members.
  • Maintain punctuality, uniform presentation, and personal hygiene, always adhering to company policies.
  • Additional Duties: In addition to the accountabilities listed above, there may be other duties as assigned by your manager. These duties may vary slightly depending on the property.

What we would like you to bring to the position:

  • WHMIS Certification (training provided)
  • “G” class driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Experience in an upscale hotel is an asset
  • Experience with luxury or Forbes recognized hotel systems is an asset
  • Experience as a valet is preferred
  • Guest Service Excellence: Provides warm, professional, and attentive service to create a welcoming experience.
  • Driving Proficiency: Safely operates a variety of vehicles, including manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Situational Awareness: Remains alert to surroundings, ensuring guest safety and efficient traffic flow.
  • Communication Skills: Clearly conveys parking procedures, directions, and property information.
  • Time Management: Works efficiently to park and retrieve vehicles promptly, especially during peak periods.
  • Integrity & Accountability: Handles guest property responsibly and maintains professionalism at all times.
