Job Title: Maintenance Manager
Reports to: Director, Manufacturing
Profile Summary:
Manage Maintenance and plant engineering functions to ensure the continuous and safe operation of equipment and facilities operations at both Club Coffee facilities.
Specific Accountabilities**:**
- Understand, apply and actively participate in maintaining health and safety program practices
- Oversee two Club Coffee facilities. Travel between sites is required.
- Provide continuous and safe operation of equipment with minimum downtime while maintaining compliance with all government regulations
- Lead by example in challenging status quo and optimizing mechanical and electrical staff to deliver best possible asset and labour utilization.
- Develop maintenance budget and manage maintenance spending within budget.
- Work with Director Engineering in installation of capital projects
- Installation and maintenance of new and existing equipment or machinery
- Identify and prioritize cost reduction projects and housekeeping of building and grounds
- Support existing MES (Manufacturing Execution System)
- With the support from the maintenance planner utilize SAP for maintenance work order and POs.
- Schedule manpower and define job requirements to execute corrective, preventive and predictive maintenance
- Scheduling and oversight of sanitation
- Manage and monitor absenteeism and overtime for maintenance staff including training and ensure that skills are maintained both technically and for safety
- Maintain regular contact with production management including Director, Operations, Shift Managers, planners and mechanical/electrical lead hands and attend daily production meeting
- Purchase and source materials, parts, equipment and services in a cost effective and timely manner. Research new equipment and technologies
- Increase process reliability and lead downtime review
- Standardize processes through creation of SOP and Standard Work Instructions
- Lead selected CI projects
- Conduct process analysis and process mapping activities
- Assess and evaluate the operational and pre-requisite programs that support the foundation of the HACCP system
- Conduct, prepare and execute audits
- Record objective evidence on the audit checklist and prepare reports
- Understand, apply and actively participate in maintaining product quality and food safety program practices including BRC, HACCP, QA / QC, GMP, Sanitation and good hygiene practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Professional Engineering degree or post graduate degree in applicable technical or business subjects, or equivalent work experience Minimum 8 years in a food manufacturing production floor environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety practices and food safety procedures
- Prior experience in high-speed CPG or Food Manufacturing an asset
- Ability to observe processes, people and equipment activity to anticipate, identify, correct or prevent quality problems or production interruptions
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and ensure completion with minimal errors.
- Ability to assess and promptly rectify difficult situations and/or issues while adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Strong teamwork skills. Ability to work cooperatively with various departments and build strong partnerships across the organization as well as lead and manage direct reports
- Ability to take proactive action based on key indicators and trend information to optimize the
- production process.
- Ability to train others in operations and routine machine care
- Frequent lifting and bending are required
- May lift 35 lbs on an infrequent basis
