The Checkpoint Resource Coordinator (CRC) plays a crucial role in our Operations Department by performing scheduling administration at the Screening Checkpoint. The CRC will be posted at various Screening Checkpoints throughout YYJ with access to a workstation. In this position, the CRC will be responsible for reconciling the Time and Attendance System (TAS) with our scheduling software to ensure accurate billing and payroll functions. The CRC will facilitate break-management for Screening Personnel and also support the coordination and scheduling of overtime where required in accordance with the Collective Agreement. Working in close coordination with the Operations Centre, the CRC will also assist with the deploying and redeploying Screening Personnel across other Screening Checkpoints at Victoria International Airport.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile shift start and end times in the TAS system with Paladin's scheduling software and investigate discrepancies between the two systems
- Administer breaks for Screening Personnel at Screening Checkpoints
- Communicate break schedules, durations, and release times directly to Screening Personnel
- Facilitate backfilling of Screening Personnel during breaks
- Arrange qualified relief personnel for breaks with matching qualifications
- Utilize Paladin's software for break management and deployment
- Monitor and manage breaks, and investigate incidents of delayed returns
- Provide investigative support and documentation for disciplinary interventions, including assisting the Labour Relations Division as required
- Ensure accurate recording of breaks in the Time and Attendance System (TAS)
- Cross-reference TAS break times with Paladin's software and adjust for payroll and billing accuracy
- Escalate complaints and non-compliance issues to Operations Managers
- Coordinate with Portfolio Resource Coordinators and Field Managers for additional resources when needed
- Generate reports for the Operations Management Team
- Collaborate with the Scheduling Analyst to refine Break Scheduling Practices based on reporting systems
- Identify and implement improvements, policies, and procedures related to break-relief
- Clearly communicate rationale behind break management practices to support employee morale and productivity
- Be accountable for all overtime required to facilitate breaks at the assigned checkpoint
Qualifications
- Equivalent work experience is desirable
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy and professionalism
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Related post-secondary education would be considered an asset
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to acquire Transportation Security Clearance (TSC)
- Ability to analyze and interpret data from reporting systems
- Experience in implementing policies and procedures
- Knowledge of labour relations and collective agreements is an asset
Salary: $50,000 - $55,000
Work Hours: These are 24/7 positions, so candidates with open availability to work morning, afternoon, and evening shifts are preferred.
This role is fully based at Victoria International Airport (YYJ).
