ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)
- College of Nurses of Ontario registration in the Extended Class (NP-Primary Health Care or NP-Adult)
- Baccalaureate in Nursing (BScN), Masters Degree in Nursing (MScN or MN) preferred
- Knowledge of Nurse Practitioners' Standards of Practice as set out by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Member of NPAO preferred.
- Experience in the hospital setting, with a Critical Care or Emergency Care background.
- Experience in providing care for the elderly.
- Advanced clinical judgement and comprehensive skills in triage, assessment, examination and treatment, with the ability to effectively adapt to constantly changing and unpredictable situations.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of an interprofessional team.
- Effective interpersonal listening, time management, organizational, teamwork, leadership, problem solving and networking skills.
- Demonstrated ability in program/service development including planning, implementation, evaluation and promotion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as computer literacy
- Satisfactory attendance.
