Location: Kenora Board Office

Hours of Work: Full-Time (1.0 fte) at 35 hours per week

Rate of Pay: Current Grid: $66,098 - $80,341

Grid effective September 1, 2025 : $67,750 - $82,350

Position Summary Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, the Accounting Technician is responsible for maintaining the School Board’s general ledger and preparing various financial and statistical reports and analyses. This position is also responsible for reconciling bank accounts, assisting with the preparation of the audited financial statements and annual operating budget, managing scholarships / trust funds, and administering school-generated funds programming.

Qualifications

  • College diploma from a recognized institution in finance or accounting is required. University degree from a recognized institution is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in general ledger maintenance and/or financial reporting position is required. Experience in a School Board environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Public Sector Accounting Board (“PSAB”) standards and requirements.
