Duties and Responsibilities:
The Administrative and Purchasing Clerk plays a crucial role in Food Services operations. The key responsibilities of this position include: collaborating with the Food Service Manager; contributing ideas for on and off-campus events; preparing function sheets for the kitchen; and reconciling invoices monthly. They verify deliveries against orders, purchase products with attention to quantity and quality for timely production, and manage tasks like cash floats, bank deposits, timesheets, and tracking reports. Additional financial responsibilities include coding invoices in the database and monitoring pricing and inventory. Other relevant duties may include overseeing storage facilities for cleanliness and safety as well as attending daily production meetings.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum Grade 12 plus an Office Administration certificate and 3 years’ directly related experience or a combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate requires a demonstrated ability to work with numerous interruptions and to work collaboratively with internal and external customers; is a proven team player; is highly motivated; works well with little direct supervision; possesses strong organizational skills; is a multi-tasker; self-starter; and delivers exceptional customer experiences. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and knowledge of bookkeeping is required. The successful candidate must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license and be physically able to lift up to 50lbs on an occasional basis.

This position is open to current internal MGEU candidates only. It is a full-time term position starting as soon as possible and ending September 2, 2025, with a possibility for extension. Skill-based testing may be required as a part of the recruitment process.
