About the role

Groupe Marcelle is currently looking for a permanent full-time Senior Analyst, Category Insights.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Commercial Analytics, the Senior Analyst, Category Insights will be a key strategic partner to the Sales, Brand and Innovation teams. The Senior Analyst, Category Insights will be responsible for uncovering actionable insights that drive category growth, strengthening retailer relationships, and uncovering growth opportunities for our brands. This individual will use data from multiple sources – including Circana, Nielsen, retail audits and internal sales – to create compelling narratives and category strategies that influence decision-making and deliver business impact.

  • Workplace: 5600, Côte-de-Liesse Road, Montreal, Quebec in hybrid mode (minimum three (3) days a week at the office) or possibility to be located in Toronto (fully remote position)

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE

  • Work cross-functionally with sales, brand and innovation to provide analytical support and business recommendations
  • Build fact-based, insight driven category presentations for key retailers
  • Act as a subject matter expert to support brand line reviews
  • Lead advanced data analysis using syndicated data sources (Nielsen, Circana, internal retail data)
  • Create reports and dashboards that clearly communicate performance and opportunities to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Manage internal data classification workflows
  • Translate complex data into compelling, concise insights for senior leadership
  • Champion a culture of data-driven decision making across the organization

WE WOULD LIKE TO MEET YOU IF YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (required).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an analytical role
  • Strong CPG (consumer packaged goods) experience, preferably within the beauty industry
  • Strong presentation and story telling skills
  • Proficient with Nielsen NIQ databases and Circana
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian retail market
  • Strong knowledge of category management and insights
  • Proficient with standard computer technology and Microsoft office applications
