Sales Associate – Factory Outlet
Stanfield’s, 1 Logan Street, Truro NS
Part-time (8-20 hours/week, Monday-Saturday, 9:00am - 5:00pm)

Job Summary: As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for assisting customers throughout the buying process, providing product recommendations, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. You will contribute to achieving store sales goals through effective customer service and product knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:

- Greet customers and ascertain what each customer wants or needs.
- Provide exceptional customer service by understanding and fulfilling customer requirements.
- Resolve customer complaints professionally, escalating to management when necessary.
Sales Generation:
- Recommend and display items that match customer needs.
- Use upselling and cross-selling techniques to increase sales.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and goals.
Product Knowledge:

- Learn about the products and services offered by the store.
- Stay updated on product features and benefits.
- Educate customers about the quality, features, and benefits of different products.
Stock Management:
-
- Assist in receiving and stocking merchandise.
- Ensure products are stocked and neatly arranged on shelves.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to management.
Cash Handling and Transactions:
-
- Process payments by totaling purchases, processing checks, cash, and store or other credit and debit cards.
- Operate cash registers and POS systems efficiently.
- Maintain accurate cash drawer.
Store Maintenance:
-
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
- Ensure shelves are stocked, neat, and tidy.
- Assist in light cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping.
Other
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health and Safety company policies and government legislation/regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Basic math skills for handling payments and transactions.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Working Conditions
- No travel requirements
- Retail and plant environments
- Moderate physical demand, standing, walking, lifting up to 25lbs
