Reporting to the Director, Policy & Communications, as a Senior Policy Advisor you will support YHC’s vision and values by researching, developing, implementing and evaluating policy, legislation, regulations, programs, plans, strategies and positions in support of housing for Yukoners.

Essential Qualifications

- Post-secondary degree in social or health sciences, public administration, economics, law or other related area
- Experience as lead person researching, assessing, and developing data driven policy options within a government or large organizational context
- Experience working and negotiating with other governments, First Nations and stakeholders
- Experience representing organizational interests
- Experience developing and implementing legislation
Candidates who have education, training and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.
Desired Knowledge, Skills and Suitability
Candidates should have and may be assessed on:
- Proven ability to establish successful partnerships through collaboration and cooperation with people with diverse and conflicting interests
- Ability to produce effective results in accordance with political direction
- Ability to take a strategic approach to planning and implementation linked to strategic direction.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently
- Commitment to client service and flexibility
- Awareness of the Yukon First Nation self-government context
