About the role

The Unit Clerk performs a variety of duties in support of the health care team including processing physician orders and liaising with other departments. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Must have a Certificate from a recognized training program which includes a practicum component. A course in Medical Terminology is required. Must have at least two to three years directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Acute care experience as a unit clerk in a hospital setting required. Able to work quickly and efficiently in a stressful environment required. Ability to represent Covenant Health professionally in all interactions required. Ability to multitask and prioritize appropriately required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent Emergency experience within the last 2 years preferred.
