Duties And Responsibilities - Join a startup. Build the finance engine. Level up your career

This role is for someone who wants to get in early and go deep. You won’t be handed a playbook. You’ll help write it. You’ll see every transaction from input to strategic impact. If you want to grow into FP&A or controllership, this is your track.

What you won’t be doing:

• Walking into a set month-end close process

• Following a predictable 9-to-5 routine

• Staying in your lane

What you will be doing:

• Becoming the source of truth for all financial transactions

• Owning reporting, modeling, budgeting, and forecasting

• Working closely with leadership on real decisions

• Testing and deploying AI and automation to improve speed and accuracy

• Building the finance systems we scale with

Core Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting policies, systems, and internal controls

• Prepare and file all government remittances (GST, PST, WCB)

• Review and maintain bank, VISA, and general ledger reconciliations

• Issue monthly financial statements and project-level financials

• Support quarterly and board-level reporting packages

• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting cycles

• Track budget versus actuals and flag variances

• Perform job costing and support pricing decisions

• Analyze operational metrics and recommend improvements

• Assist with financial audits and year-end file preparation

• Support system transitions and improve workflows using automation and AI

Who you are:

• 3+ years into your accounting career

• Working toward or already have your CPA

• Strong with ASPE and full-cycle accounting

• Experienced with project reporting and cost allocations

• Curious about startups, automation, and SaaS-style metrics

• Ready to create structure in a fast-moving, growing company
