About the role

The Health & Safety Advisor provides assistance in the multi-site management of occupational health and safety. As an ambassador of good practices, they acts as a resource person in addition to designing policies and procedures to guide internal clients in the daily management and prevention of OHS.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a health and safety resource to foster a prevention-focused OHS culture across Canada's warehouses;
  • Advise managers and supervisors and make them accountable for the management of health and safety on a daily basis and raise their awareness in order to reduce the risk of workplace accidents;
  • Measure the effectiveness of Health and Safety programs in place and quantify the improvements;
  • Assistance during stimulating training sessions and provide prevention tools to internal clients;
  • Participate in the analysis of our existing prevention program and make recommendations for risk reduction;
  • Complete workplace inspections and audits and write inspection reports to enable improvements;
  • Participate in work safe visit and reports;
  • Write occupational health and safety procedures and policies;
  • Collaborate with the claims and disability advisor to investigate, bring continuous improvement in case of a work accidents.

Success Factors:

  • Passionate about Health and Safety, especially prevention in an operations environment;

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing health and safety audit and prevention plan, ideally in a warehouse or industrial environment;

  • Excellent communication, influence, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

  • Willingness to travel to different sites.
