About the role

Our client is a well-established, boutique law firm located in downtown Vancouver. On their behalf, we seek a part-time HR Manager to support the firm’s Partners by managing the HR function, and acting as liaison and facilitator for all the different teams. The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced law firm leader who is approachable, flexible, and reliable.

Responsibilities:

Overseeing the employee lifecycle, which includes:

  • Full cycle recruitment and selection of staff
  • Onboarding of new employees
  • Conducting annual performance reviews and compensation analysis
  • Addressing performance concerns as needed
  • Administering benefits and leaves of absence
  • Managing staff vacation time
  • Overseeing terminations and departures
  • Administering firm Policies and Procedures, and updating them as required in accordance with Employment Standards
  • Running payroll in collaboration with Finance Director
  • Assist Partners and Finance Director with day-to-day operations of the firm.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience within a law firm
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and conflict resolution capabilities
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Open and flexible attitude
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or a related field is considered an asset.

Wage: $80,000-110,000 (FTE)
