About the role
As a member of the Liquor Store Outlet the Liquor Store Clerk is responsible for providing customers with an exceptional shopping experience. From welcoming customers, answering inquiries, assisting with locating product to assisting with carrying out of orders.
Impact & Influence on Guests, Associates and Business
- Knowledge of products, in house specials, promotions, etc. and utilize upselling techniques to maximize revenue
- Accurately total, process and collect payments from customers to include, but not limited to, using the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, making change, processing gift certificates, room charges
- Opening and closing duties
- Replenish stock
- Comply with Provincial Liquor and Gaming Regulations
- Knowledge of department cleaning products; this includes complying with all safe handling procedures and wearing required PPE as necessary
- Conduct on the job training to new associates as required
- Other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, and Skills
- Previous customer service experience an asset
- Demonstrated proficiency in the following competencies:
Work Conditions
- Hotel environment
- Required to work in beer cooler regularly throughout shift
- Physical demands include, but are not limited to walking, standing, reaching, pulling, pushing and lifting up to 30 lbs. frequently
- Medium level of mental effort and attention to detail
- High level of sensory attention; sight and hearing
- Must be legal age to serve alcohol
- Must hold valid provincial Responsible Server Certificate
- Must be available to work days, evenings and weekends
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00-$15.50 per hour
Expected hours: 36 per week
