About the role
Job Title
Chair
Organisation
Keniston HA
Job Description Rooted in the community, Keniston are a values-led organisation, aiming to always act with: respect, openness, inclusivity, integrity, and excellence. These values underpin the service offer to residents and are central to our achieving consistently high levels of resident satisfaction.
We are looking to recruit a new Chair in 2025, as our current Chair, Emma Keegan, is due to step down at the end of her 6-year tenure in which she has brought enthusiasm, dedication and a wealth of experience to the role.
Keniston is a smaller housing association operating in seven local authority areas, providing primarily low cost rented housing for families, single people and older persons. We currently own approximately 850 homes. Our operational performance is good, we are in a healthy financial position and have a strong asset base. Our continued independence as an organisation is important, but not because we are afraid of change. Locally focused housing providers like Keniston have a crucial contribution to make to the social housing landscape.
Our new Chair will progress and embrace the challenge and delivery of our corporate strategy, ongoing investment in the quality and safety of our homes, and take forward our growth plans. We seek an individual who shares our vision and values and can work with our impressive Board, Chief Executive and staff to shape and develop our future direction.
Candidates will have exceptional leadership and communication skills and ideally experience of chairing, as well as a passion for the social housing sector. You will ensure an effective working relationship between the Executive and Board members, recognising the boundaries and be adept at giving direction and receiving guidance.
For further information, or an informal discussion about the role, please contact our consultants: Tony Clark or Carol Drummond at The Housing Executive on 020 7620 3048 or email rec@thehousingexecutive.com
