General Description
This position will be responsible for the accounting at the assigned plant entity, including the month end close process, analysis, accounts payable, accounts receivable, SOX compliance and general plant administrative support. Plant Controller will report directly to Divisional Controller and indirectly to Plant Manager.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Responsible for accounts payable entries and weekly check run processing.
- Responsible for posting cash, collections and accounts receivable analysis.
- Analyze and record accruals.
- Analyze inventory movement, includes job costs review, PPV and annual Physical Inventory.
- Responsible for preparation and upload of plant reporting package into SAP.
- Responsible for monthly tax report
- Responsible for monthly reconciliations of sales, bank account and balance sheet.
- Prepare cost reports.
- Establish records, maintain records and balance various accounts using computerized bookkeeping systems.
- Post entries to the general ledger and reconcile accounts.
- Serve as office manager regarding office supplies, equipment and janitorial staff
- Supervise accounting assistant / office staff
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience: 7-10 years experience. Previous experience in a plant location manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Languages: English and French
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
- Must have strong attention to details
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Strong analytical ability required.
- Knowledge of standard accounting system along with understanding of manufacturing variances.
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels.
- Ability to present results.
