Position Description:
CGI is seeking a Network Telecom Architect specialized in LAN/WLAN to join our Infrastructure team in Montreal. As a network architect, you will be responsible for the design, evolution, and governance of local and wireless network infrastructures in complex and critical industrial environments. You will take part in digital transformation projects, network performance optimization, and the integration of emerging technologies across multisite contexts in both Canada and internationally.
Key Responsibilities

Define LAN/WLAN network architectures tailored to client needs, in compliance with security and performance standards.

Develop technical architecture documents (HLD, LLD) and implementation plans.
-
Collaborate with operations, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure overall solution coherence.

Provide technical expertise for deployment, migration, or continuous improvement projects.
-
Conduct technology watch on LAN/WLAN solutions (Wi-Fi 6/6E, SD-Access, NAC, etc.).

Contribute to the development of enterprise standards and network architecture best practices.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of proven experience in LAN/WLAN network architecture in complex environments.
- Mastery of the following technologies:
o LAN: Switching, VLAN, spanning tree, QoS, DHCP, DNS
o WLAN: Wi-Fi controllers, access points, centralized management, wireless security
o Network Security: NAC (802.1X), segmentation, access control
o Protocols: TCP/IP, STP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP

Strong knowledge of solutions from Cisco (Catalyst, Meraki, DNAC), Aruba, or other major vendors.

Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate with non-technical stakeholders.

Solid experience in technical documentation and reference architecture development.

Experience working in industrial environments; mining/heavy industries preferred.

Strongly desired: experience with IT/OT integration topics.
Assets
-
Certifications such as CCNP, CWNA, Aruba Certified Mobility Professional, or equivalents.

Experience in hybrid environments (on-prem/cloud).

Bilingualism (French and English).
