Banded Peak Brewing is looking for an Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join the supply team. This position will be full-time and report to the Plant Manager.
Prior brewery and ES experience or education is encouraged. The ideal candidate is a reliable self-starter who is comfortable working on their own while supporting the policies, goals and safety practices of Banded Peak Brewing.
About Us Banded Peak Brewing started from humble beginnings with three friends opening a brewery and taproom in Calgary in May of 2016. Since then, Banded Peak has grown into a thriving brewery with a strong taproom program and distribution across Alberta. Banded Peak is a leader in innovation in styles as well as growing taproom culture in Calgary. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Work with the supply team to maintain ABI Zone Compliant safety programs for the facility including but not limited to PPE, LOTO, Confined Space and Contractor Safety.
- Conduct annual reviews and audits on the facility safety programs.
- Approve and maintain all permits that are required by the facility safety programs.
- Ensure all practices are in compliance with regulator bodies and maintain all necessary paperwork, permits and reporting.
- Promote safety awareness and conduct routine risk and hazard assessments.
- Coordinate and plan training for all employees.
- Environmental monitoring, reporting, and permitting.
- Work with plant manager and the rest of the supply team to develop and implement new procedures or procure new equipment to reduce waste and utility usage.
Requirements:
- University Degree
- Strong knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety legislation and policies
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous experience at a commercial production brewery
- Previous experience in an EHS role
- Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygiene designations
- Occupational Health and Safety training or courses related to industrial environmental aspects (wastewater, air emissions, and solid waste management)
