Job Description

Position Summary:

The HRIS Analyst plays a key role in the day-to-day administration, management and optimization of the organization’s Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), with a strong focus on data accuracy, system maintenance, and reporting. This position acts as a bridge between HR, IT, and our external vendors to support HR operations through system troubleshooting, user support, routine reporting, and integration of HR technology solutions. The ideal candidate will deliver advanced reporting, drive business intelligence, and offer tactical insights, while ensuring data integrity, overseeing data entry processes, and championing the ongoing enhancement of our HR systems and infrastructure.

This position puts data at the forefront to ensure that our HR systems and people analytics are accurate, well-maintained, and used effectively to support business operations and decision-making.

Level of Responsibility

Enhanced task and problem complexity and accountabilty to business area. Works indipendently with general supervision, contributing significantly to the team and overall departmental objectives. Sets own day to day objectives, ensures policies, practices and procedures are followed and understood by stakeholders.

Qualifications

Key Tasks

HRIS Management & Optimization

  • Configure, maintain, and update the core HRIS (ADP / Cornerstone) and related modules (e.g., Core HR, Time off balances, Benefits, Payroll integrations).

  • Responsible for system maintenance, data integrity, and audit readiness.

  • Process system transactions and support organizational changes such as job updates, manager changes, and any other applicable system change.

  • Provide day-to-day support to HR and end users, troubleshooting issues and escalating as necessary.

  • Assist in system audits, data clean-up initiatives, and compliance with data governance and privacy standards.

  • Support routine HRIS configuration such as dropdowns, workflows, and approval paths (with vendor or IT support as needed).

  • Manage system security roles and user access; ensure compliance with data governance and privacy standards.

  • Lead and/or support HR system upgrades, testing, and implementation of new modules or enhancements.

  • Act as the liaison between HR and IT teams to ensure effective translation of HR data across systems (Teams, MIM)

  • Ensure all HR systems are aligned with enterprise architecture and information security policies.

Reporting, Data & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain standard and advanced reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support HR & Business Leaders via Excel, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and ADP reporting tools.

  • Perform hands on data extraction, cleansing, validation and transformation to support operational and executive needs.

  • Provide ad hoc and scheduled reports for senior leadership, offering insights into headcount, turnover, payroll trends, benefits utilization, etc.

  • Support project execution for system updates, data clean-up, and cyclical processes such as annual compensation reviews or organizational updates.

  • Collaborate with IT, payroll, and vendors to resolve operational issues and support minor integrations or data feeds as needed.

  • Monitor data quality through regular system audits and validations and ensure timely correction of data issues.

  • Lead and execute cyclical and ad hoc reporting needs (e.g., headcount, turnover, tenure, time off, management reports, etc.)

  • Contribute to HR system-related projects, including vendor transitions, implementations, and process redesign initiatives.

  • Document business requirements, user guides, and process workflows regarding our HRIS.

  • Support internal and external reporting requirements, including government and compliance reporting.

  • Assist with the preparation of dashboards or executive summaries using Excel or Power BI.

Skills / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience working with an HRIS in a system administration or analyst capacity.
  • Proven experience with one or more enterprise HRIS platforms (e.g., ADP, Workday, Cornerstone).
  • Solid understanding of systems integration, data flows, and process design across HR, payroll, and IT.
  • Strong technical aptitude, advanced Excel, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, PowerApp).
  • Experience working in an HR environment or partnering closely with IT or system architects is highly desirable.
  • High attention to detail, with strong organizational and data management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with confidential and sensitive data with discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to support and train HR colleagues and respond effectively to user needs.
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, PIPEDA) as well as federal reporting (Pay Equity, Employment Equity) is an asset.
  • Bilingual, English, French required
    • Must use English to work with customers located internationally and in other Canadian provinces.

    • Must use English to work with suppliers located internationally and in other Canadian provinces.

    • Must report in English to MSC Head Office located in Geneva.

    • Must communicate in English with other MSC offices located in Vancouver, Halifax and Toronto.
