JOB PURPOSE
The Clinical Specialist is primarily responsible for scientific/consultative work in one or more disciplines in a regional laboratory. This position may have region-wide responsibilities in their area of specialty.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Licensed and in good standing with New Brunswick Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists
- A.R.T. or master’s degree related to the discipline
- Minimum of 6 years related experience
- Demonstrated supervisory abilities.
- Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
- Ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Good work record.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Clinical Specialist is responsible for:
- Providing clinical consultations within and outside of the region
- Interpreting or verifying difficult or unusual test results
- Developing and implementing quality control, quality improvement and continuing education programs
- Coordinating research projects
- Developing, implementing and monitoring performance indicators
- Performing highly specialized tests
- Developing and implementing new tests and methodologies
