About the role

Work location: Southern New-Brunswick

Work status: Temporary, Full-Time (15 months contract)

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (37.5 hours/week)

Work mode: Work on the road (60% of the time) and from home (40% of the time)

YOUR ROLE This position is accountable for generating sales of Sollio feed in a specified geographic area based on an approved annual budget. The incumbent provides customers with technical information and feeding programs and works in a consultative role with the nutritionist and mill operations in developing and improving Sollio feeding programs.

Reporting to the Regional Manager of Atlantic Farm Services, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Achieve budgeted sales to member co-ops and farmers in assigned territory by analyzing market conditions and assessing opportunities for increased sales;
  • Develop a feed tonnage budget and marketing plan for the territory and justify variances from the approved tonnage budget;
  • Provide highly technical assistance to farmers on a broad range of feeds and feeding management so that the farmers can make the best management decisions. Liaise and engage with Sollio agriculture technical specialists is required;
  • Maintain up-to-date market share information for assigned territory;
  • Provide Sollio Agriculture with feedback on acceptance of products, effectiveness of promotional programs and opportunities for increased sales;
  • Investigate all complaints and contribute to resolving them in an effective manner in order to enhance good customer relations;
  • Serves as a vital link between the feed mill operations and the customer;
  • Learn and master the use of Best Mix Ration Program for dairy nutrition and other programs as required.

** This job requires you to do extensive travel on the road, in southern New-Brunswick. **

YOUR ASSETS

  • You have a College Diploma or University Degree in Animal Science;
  • You have a valid driver’s license;
  • You must be flexible to travel frequently on the road because regular visits on farm operations are required, on a regular basis;
  • You are comfortable with climbing, with heights and with walking;
  • You are comfortable in noisy or dusty environments;
  • You pay great attention to detail and demonstrate strong critical thinking.
