JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the senior legal advisor, the legal advisor provides advice to the company, its subsidiaries, and their various departments on a range of legal matters and handles the relevant documentation, in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. He or she works primarily in international commercial law and corporate law, and occasionally in other areas as required by the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in collaboration with the senior legal advisor on a variety of cases;
- Analyze, draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, such as confidentiality agreements, contracts with suppliers of products, equipment, or services, transportation contracts, supply contracts with our customers, and leases;
- Follow up on documents related to our contracts (e.g., insurance certificates, supplier compliance documents, etc.);
- Follow up on files with law firms in Canada and internationally for trademark registrations, as part of special projects or litigation;
- Participate in the drafting of internal policies, resolutions, and other corporate documents;
- Keep the legal documents of the group's companies up to date;
- Assist the senior legal advisor with tasks related to the protection of personal information
- Assist the human resources department with issues related to labor law and work permits
- Monitor new laws and amendments to existing laws
- Any other related tasks.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor's degree in law;
- Member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec;
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience;
- Experience in commercial law;
- Advanced proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Demonstrate rigor and autonomy;
- Good priority management and ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously;
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
