About the SATCC:
The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC) performs four main roles: we train apprentices; certify apprentices and tradespeople; regulate the apprenticeship system of training; and promote apprenticeship as a way for employers to meet their labour market requirements.

Our mandate is to develop, promote, and execute a relevant, accessible, and responsive apprenticeship training and certification system to meet the needs of employers, apprentices, journeypersons, and tradespersons.
We are currently looking for a Learning Strategist to join our team who is collaborative, proactive and results-oriented. This is a permanent full-time position.
Reporting to the Director of Innovation and Inclusion, the Learning Strategist is a key member of the innovation and inclusion team. This position is responsible for the early intervention and ongoing assistance for apprentices who require learning and test-taking strategies and interventions, in order to increase success.
As the Learning Strategist, your responsibilities will include:
- Manage the design, data collection/analysis/interpretation, reporting and follow-up process for:
- Early intervention evaluations under the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship program;
- Broad student assessment under the Provincial and Red Seal certification process and;
- Directly contribute to the Apprenticeship Success Strategy’s success.
- Provide conceptual and operational support to measurement of the apprentices’ opportunity-to-learn and apprentice achievement outcomes and to the provision of apprentice-specific advancement and completion information;
- Provide expertise and direction to senior management in the Department with respect to assessment types or styles and the evaluation of learning issues and challenges;
- Represent the Department and Branch at local, regional, and provincial and national forums to promote early intervention and learning strategies for apprentices;
- Facilities advisory committees of stakeholder groups for assessment and evaluation projects, as required; and
- Provide advice and support to members of the Apprenticeship Services, Learning Assessment and Program Development teams who work with the SATCC.
Learning Strategist's Qualifications:
Essential Qualifications: University degree in Adult Education with a concentration in learning disabilities or a related university degree plus an Adult Learning Certificate. A minimum of three (3) years of related work experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of and experience with assistive technologies. A strong knowledge working with Microsoft Office Suite and working in a virtual environment is required.
Asset Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of, and experience with, the apprenticeship system in Canada and knowledge of the Province's apprenticeship learning support model. Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications to be given further consideration.
