About the Opportunity
We are seeking professional and compassionate Healthcare Security Guards to help protect the patients, staff, and visitors of healthcare facilities in Campbellton, New Brunswick.
In this role, you will provide safety, security, and crisis response in a dynamic healthcare environment — supporting both medical teams and public safety protocols.
You will help de-escalate situations, ensure facility safety standards are met, and interact respectfully with patients, staff, and the public. This is a critical role where professionalism, integrity, and respect are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol hospital grounds: Conduct regular rounds throughout hospital premises, including parking areas, corridors, patient rooms, entrances, and exits to ensure site safety.
- Monitor surveillance systems: Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring that any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
- Access control: Monitor and control hospital entry points, ensuring only authorized individuals access restricted areas.
- Respond to emergencies: Act quickly in emergencies such as medical situations, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff during crises and evacuations as needed.
- Provide customer service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Offer directions and ensure that clients comply with hospital policies and procedures.
- Conflict resolution: Defuse tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.
- Report writing: Accurately document daily activities, incidents, or accidents. Complete incident, breach, and security concern reports.
- Collaborate with hospital staff: Work closely with hospital personnel and local law enforcement to ensure a coordinated security effort and maintain the safety of all parties involved.
- Enforce hospital policies: Ensure hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in accordance with hospital safety standards.
Requirements
* Must be **19 years of age or older**
- Must be fluent in French
- Must be bilingual (French and English)
- Ability to provide a Vulnerable Sector Check
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts (days, evenings, nights)
- Willing to work weekdays, weekends, overnights
- Available to attend 3 to 5 days of training during weekday business hours
- Valid Security Guard License for New Brunswick
- COVID vaccination (two doses)
- Able to provide immunization records for mumps, measles, rubella, varicella, and a two-step TB skin test
- Able to provide valid certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
Nice-to-Have:
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field
- Prior experience working in healthcare settings
- Additional language skills beyond French and English
- Strong conflict resolution or mental health crisis response training
