Job Summary:
The Extracts Technician operates within the Extraction Department, reporting to the Extraction Manager. Responsibilities include dilution, material preparation, edible product manufacturing, preventative maintenance, machine operation, documentation, and cleaning of equipment and workspace.
Please note: This role is a 12-month maternity leave coverage, tentatively extending through July 2026.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Preparing material for edible production activities
- Manufacturing products to ensure that they meet quality expectations
- Operating large-scale edible production equipment
- Performing dilution or mixing activities
- Maintaining and sanitizing processing equipment and workspace
- Documenting processing, maintenance, and sanitation activities
- Complying with Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Following Quality Assurance standard operating procedures
- Completing other assigned duties as needed
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to operate machinery or industrial equipment
- Minimum 1 year of production-related experience
- Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods up to 3 hours or more
- Ability to take direction and follow all company policies/procedures
- Experience with high and low temperature, pressurized equipment, or in the Cannabis industry is considered an asset.
