About the role

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a part-time Registered Nurse (Infusion Clinic) to join our team at Sandstone Pharmacies Glenmore Landing Infusion Clinic in Calgary, AB.

As an infusion Registered Nurse with Neighbourly, you will play a crucial role in administering intravenous medications and therapies to patients in our clinic. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of our patients throughout their infusion treatments. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment and make a meaningful impact on the lives of our patients.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities:

  • Administer intravenous medications and therapies in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and assess their overall condition during infusion treatments
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients before, during, and after infusions to identify potential adverse reactions and to ensure their safety and comfort
  • Identify signs and symptoms of post-infusion reactions and administer appropriate medications and interventions to manage reactions promptly and effectively
  • Initiate emergency protocols when necessary, including the administration of epinephrine and other live-saving interventions
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their infusion treatments
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
  • Ensure the proper handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies
  • Adhere to infection control practices and maintain a clean and organized clinic environment
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing training and development

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment as well as independently

Education and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Previous experience in an infusion clinic preferred
  • Advanced Life Support Certification an asset
