Our therapeutic programs are designed to create safe, nurturing, and growth-oriented environments for children, youth, and adults with support needs. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Acting Program Supervisor to join our team and oversee the successful operations of one of our Therapeutic Programs in Coquitlam.

Position Summary

The Program Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of a Therapeutic Program, providing leadership and supervision to staff, managing schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. The Supervisor acts as a community liaison, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders, neighbors, and other service providers. This role requires a combination of administrative, supervisory, and hands-on support skills to create a stable and well-functioning care environment.

This position is Monday-Friday, 40 hour/week, with occasional evenings/weekends as needed, and includes joining the Weekend On-Call Supervisor rotation. This position ends February 9, 2026.

Key Responsibilities

Program Supervision and Administration

  • Oversee daily operations of the care setting and supervise staff and subcontractors.
  • Ensure program policies and procedures are followed and evaluate service effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate reports, time sheets, petty cash records, and other documentation.
  • Work with the Clinical Team to develop, implement, and evaluate program goals and policies.
  • Ensure the care setting is clean, safe, secure, and meets licensing and accreditation standards.
  • Assist in preparing the annual operating budget and monitor expenditures.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations and service delivery targets are met.
  • Participate in weekend on-call rotation (with appropriate compensation).
  • Provide direct support as needed, implementing strategies in the service plan.

Workforce Planning and Team Management

  • Determine and maintain staffing levels to meet contractual obligations.
  • Schedule, supervise, and evaluate staff and subcontractors while monitoring operations.
  • Work closely with the Relief Manager to meet casual staffing needs.
  • Identify high-performing staff and develop pathways for career advancement.
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, training, and onboarding new team members.
  • Provide professional development, coaching, and regular check-ins with staff.
  • Facilitate team meetings and manage workplace issues, including WorkSafe claims.

Qualifications

  • Education: Diploma in a related human/social service field.
  • Experience: Minimum three years of recent related experience, including one year of supervisory or administrative experience (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
  • Specialized training in behavioural modification, trauma-informed care, attachment-based parenting, and relationship-based interventions.
  • Strong knowledge of employment standards, health and safety regulations, and supervision principles.
  • Certifications required: First Aid & CPR, CPI and/or MANDT certification (we will train those who require this)
  • Must have access to a vehicle, hold a valid B.C. Class 5 Driver’s License, and have business insurance with $3,000,000 liability coverage.
  • Ability to cover 24-hour on-call duties when required.
  • Must be able to pass a Criminal Record Check.

  • Strong leadership, supervision, and team development skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, scheduling, and service plans.
  • Excellent relationship management skills, including working with funders and community stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of child and youth care approaches, behaviour management, and intervention strategies.
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and handle conflict professionally.
  • Strong professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development for self and employees.
  • Some computer literacy and ability to learn new systems.
  • Salary: $29.00-$32.00/hour plus benefits
