About the role

Position Title:  Finance Coordinator - CCubed (Volunteer)

Time Commitment:  5–10 hours/week

Location:  Remote

Compensation:  Volunteer (Unpaid)

About CCubed

CCubed is a collaborative, student-led initiative uniting computer science students across Canada. We create community, share opportunities, and drive innovation through events, outreach, and inter-university partnerships. Our mission depends on industry relationships and sponsorships to sustain and grow our programming.

Position Overview

CCUBED is seeking a proactive and relationship-driven Finance Coordinator to lead our sponsorship and industry engagement efforts. This is a fully remote volunteer position ideal for someone passionate about finance, networking, and outreach. You will gain hands-on experience and make a tangible impact by helping a growing organization maximize its impact through creative resource development, cost-effective strategies, and innovative financial management.

Key Responsibilities

Sponsorship Acquisition & Management

  • Identify, research, and target potential sponsors whose values align with CCUBED’s mission
  • Develop compelling sponsorship proposals and tailored partnership packages for prospective sponsors
  • Initiate outreach and build relationships with industry partners, companies, and community organizations.
  • Negotiate sponsorship terms and ensure clear communication of mutual benefits and expectations.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with current and prospective sponsors, providing regular updates and recognition.

Industry & Community Relations

  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with industry professionals, alumni, and other stakeholders to expand CCUBED’s network.
  • Represent CCUBED in virtual meetings, events, and correspondence with partners and sponsors.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and opportunities relevant to student organizations.

General Administrative Support

  • Track all sponsorship activities and maintain an organized database of contacts, proposals, and partnership agreements.
  • Prepare concise reports summarizing sponsorship progress and industry engagement for the executive team.
  • Contribute ideas for in-kind support, fundraising initiatives, and other creative resource solutions.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite (especially MS Excel).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all financial processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with industry partners and sponsors.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a remote, team-based environment and maintain confidentiality.

Desirable Assets

  • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, or bookkeeping (internships or co-op placements count).
  • Interest in pursuing a professional accounting or finance designation (e.g., CPA, CFA).
  • Experience in student organizations, non-profits, or startups is an asset.
