About the role

We have an temporary position opening for a hair salon Receptionist.

We are located in downtown Oakville and would love to have you join our Award-Winning Salon.

As our reception team is the first point of contact to all our clientele. We are looking for someone who is polite, positive and enthusiastic, has a positive attitude and who has excellent skills in communication. The candidate must be presentable, well-mannered, stress resistant, positive, proactive, and self-organized.

This position would suit someone with exceptional telephone and organizational skills, with outstanding customer service experience and an ability to work in a team inspired environment.

The person we are seeking:

  • Has an exceptional telephone manner with fantastic organizational skills, able to coordinate the running of the salon and the ability to multitask
  • Has excellent communication skills
  • Will work well on your own as well as part of a team our team
  • Has a friendly, positive, professional personality and demeanour
  • Is confident with retailing and promoting products
  • Is computer literate
  • Is self-motivated
  • Is punctual, honest, reliable
  • Has experience with booking systems

This position is required to ensure that the highest standards of hospitality are demonstrated at all times.

Key responsibilities will include answering the phone, booking appointments and answering general inquiries in a professional and courteous manner. You will also be responsible for the smooth running of the salon which includes helping out wherever needed.

Please note some evenings and all Saturdays are a must. Shifts will be 6-8hrs

Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational skills to manage salon appointments efficiently
  • Strong communication skills to interact with clients and team members effectively
  • Prior experience in customer service roles preferred
  • Proficiency in POS systems and basic math for cashiering duties
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and securely
  • Familiarity with retail sales and upselling techniques

Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 34 weeks

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
