Company Summary: Many Roads Purveyors are egg dealers providing a service to farmers by facilitating the supply chain. We buy eggs from farmers, take them to be graded, and sell them at markets. Our farmers have fewer than 100 laying hens, which is the limit without expensive quotas. Consequently, we work with multiple farmers and sell their eggs together under a single brand.
Job Summary: We are seeking a friendly and reliable Market Stall Assistant to support our Market Stall Operators at various farmers' markets. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals who enjoy working with people, have an interest in food products, and want to gain experience in a vibrant market setting.
The job consists of loading a vehicle with equipment and product, driving to a farmer’s market, setting up the market stall, serving customers during the market, tearing down the market stall, cleaning and putting away equipment, storing unsold product, and updating sales records.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with Stall Setup and Breakdown:
- Help set up and dismantle the market stall, including displaying products and organizing equipment.
- Assist with loading and unloading products and supplies.
- Customer Service Support:
- Greet customers and provide information about products.
- Assist customers with purchases and answer basic questions.
- Maintain a clean and organized stall area.
- Product Handling:
- Help organize and display eggs and egg products attractively.
- Ensure products are handled with care and maintain quality standards.
- Assist with inventory management, restocking shelves, and rotating stock.
- Transaction Support:
- Assist with cash and card transactions.
- Help bag customer purchases and provide receipts.
- General Assistance:
- Provide support to the Market Stall Operator as needed.
- Maintain a positive and friendly attitude.
Qualifications:
- No previous experience required; training will be provided.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
- Basic math skills for assisting with transactions.
- An interest in food and local products is a plus.
- Willingness to obtain a food handler’s certificate (if required).
- Valid full G drivers License, with a clean driving record
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods.
Compensation:
- $19 / hour to $21 / hour
