Avent Charter is expanding and in search for a dedicated and driven professional to join as an Operations Associate.
Avent is a leading passenger transportation company based in Richmond, BC. This is a permanent, full-time position based in our head office in British Columbia and presents an excellent opportunity to gain experience for growth within the company and the transportation industry at large.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Manage inbound and outbound requests related to bus services, service routes and vehicle information.
- Address incoming sales inquiries and bus booking requests related to our transportation services including bus charters, shuttles and passenger transportation management solutions.
- Administrative and management support in the dispatch of drivers and vehicles to maintain a high fleet utilization rate and maximize service efficiency.
- Monitor GPS tracking of vehicles in operation to ensure optimal on-time performance and provide immediate support to service delays.
- Supervise drivers and maintain routine communication with operations and safety team to ensure vehicle compliance and safety standards are aligned.
- Oversee fleet usage and bus service levels to sustain efficient utilization of vehicles, equipment and personnel within budget parameters to effectively manage company resources.
- Support operations team in the management and collection of departmental performance metrics and KPIs for data analysis and ensuring maximum productivity and service route coverage.
- Facilitating charter bookings and trip sheets to provide smooth operations within the company.
- Work well with colleagues and act as a contributing member to a collaborative, professional and fun operations team.
Job Requirements:
- Post-secondary degree or certification in related field of study.
- Previous experience in the transportation industry and customer service role is preferred.
- Knowledge and familiarity of geographic locations, vehicle routing opportunities, and traffic conditions within the Pacific Northwest area of Canada is desirable.
- Readiness to collaborate and work in different capacities as part of a team.
- Resourceful and independent self-starter with confidence to engage with customers and manage multi-tasking effectively.
- Strong passion for busses, motor coach vehicles and passenger transport is a huge asset.
- Excellent computer, problem solving and customer service skills will be valued.
- Strong ability and comprehension Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel is a must.
- Exhibits a professional and courteous attitude with an emphasis in customer service.
- Fluent language skills and communication in English is a must. Strong and/or moderate conversation-level ability in Cantonese, Mandarin and Hindi is valued to communicate to our diverse team of drivers of all background(s) and culture(s).
This is a permanent, full-time position that includes paid in-house training. The selected candidate would be able to start this position and role immediately.
