We are seeking a Professional Engineer to join our Integrated Resource Planning Policy & Coordination Department. Under the
general direction of the Integrated Planning Coordination Section Head, you will be responsible for the development,
implementation, and continuous improvement of the integrated planning framework across energy supply and delivery, and the
broader energy landscape, including advancing implementation of the Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) road map and supporting
pre-planning work for new supply resource options. As a subject matter expert in integrated planning, you will drive decisions by
supporting near-term priorities, long-term strategies, and resolving complex technical issues using specialized engineering
knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the integrated planning framework and processes for integrated

resource planning, and related analysis to ensure cross-departmental coordination as well as incorporation of external drivers
from the evolving energy landscape.

  • Lead multi-disciplinary and multi-department teams in overseeing complex integrated planning activities that encompass

energy supply and delivery, customer, rates, finance, risk, and other relevant areas, ensuring all efforts align with organization
goals.

  • Support Divisional efforts in the development of new resources, including dispatchable capacity and wind, coordinating

between the IRP Division and other enterprise wide project participants in pre-planning activities.

  • Apply advanced engineering expertise in integrated resource planning, for both electric and natural gas planning, to optimize

the application of the integrated planning framework to align with enterprise strategic needs and considering relevant
integrated aspects in the related analysis.

  • Act as an internal subject matter expert, independently responsible for analyzing relevant integrated aspects, ensuring the

development and availability of inputs/outputs for integrated planning, and providing critical recommendations for modelling to
support Integrated Resource Planning, with personal accountability for the quality and timeliness of assigned work.

  • Provide technical guidance to junior staff in the planning and application of the framework for ongoing and future integrated

planning activities, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and technical requirements, while adapting to evolving needs.

  • Prepare and present technical and strategic reports on integrated resource planning and the evolving energy landscape, while

ensuring that best practices are applied to advance key initiatives while prioritizing future trends to inform enterprise
decision-making.

  • Stay abreast of industry best practices related to integrated resource planning studies to ensure the framework remain

adaptive and aligned with regulatory developments.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate in Engineering from a university of recognized standing with a minimum of seven years of related experience

  • Professional Member in good standing with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

throughout the enterprise.

  • Advanced knowledge of integrated resource planning, related analysis and analysis tools including simulation and

optimization models.

  • Ability to plan, organize and control activities of various schedule-critical concurrent work assignments within the area of

responsibility with minimum supervision.

  • Strong analytical skills including scenario development and relevant sensitivity testing.
  • Working knowledge of Project Management Bodies of Knowledge.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the principles of the operation of Manitoba Hydro's energy supply and delivery system as

well as the current and future energy landscape.

Salary Range

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The range for the classification is $51.34-$70.34 Hourly,
$98,380.88-$134,784.78 Annually.
