About the role

Christie Gardens is looking for a dependable Dietary Aide who believes in providing the highest quality of service to our residents. This is an important and meaningful position for those who call Christie Gardens home.

Dietary Aides are responsible for serving breakfast alongside Personal Support Workers in our nursing home department. This includes bringing meal items to each kitchen, providing feeding assistance to residents as needed, and preparing for and assisting with lunch service. It also involves providing input into residents’ growth plans and feedback in relation to the residents’ preferences, goals and changes in condition.

The base schedule for this position is 7am-1pm, seven shifts bi-weekly including every second weekend.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Food Handlers Certificate
  • Certified Food Service Worker, or enrolled in the program an asset
  • Track record of reliability and punctuality
  • Exceptional time management skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent teamwork, listening and communication skills
  • Ability to follow Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulations

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist with delivering and re-stocking supplies, housekeeping, meal preparation and community life events
  • Participate in planning and implementing weekly themes and community life activities
  • Build rapport and communicate with Residents and their loved ones in a respectful and collaborative manner
  • Take part in weekly team gatherings, huddles and learning circles
