About the Role:

Adult Eating Disorders - Mental Health Care Program

The Adult Eating Disorders Service (AEDS),is an outpatient and residential program providing treatment to clients who suffer from eating disorders. The successful candidate will work with a team which includes community mental health workers, a dietitian, a nurse, a nurse practitioner, a psychiatrist, a psychologist, and social workers in the AEDS part of the Mental Health Care Program.

Under the direction and supervision of a clinical psychologist within the AEDS, the Psychometrist will provide psychological services to AEDS clients. Duties include participation in team meetings/case consultations, clinical interviewing, records review, the administration and scoring of psychological tests, report preparation, facilitating time sensitive assessments based on patient's status in the program, and the maintenance of files, test materials, and databases.

As the ideal candidate, you have:

  • Bachelors Degree (Honours) in Psychology, Education or related discipline
  • Minimum two years recent, related experience in mental health preferred
  • Successful completion of courses related Psychological/Neuropsychological Assessment, Brain-Behaviour Relationships/Neuropsychology Theory, Adult learning theory/education/academic accommodations andEthics
  • Proficient skill with Microsoft Excel and SPSS
  • Proficient in computerized scoring software (e.g., WAIS-IV/WMS-IV, CVLT-II), and testing software (e.g., CPT-II, Wisconsin Card Sorting Test)
  • Experience using semi-structured assessment interviews preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience working with the secondary and post-secondary educational systems preferred
  • Knowledge of academic accommodations and the diverse educational needs of adult learners
  • Demonstrated ability in clinical interviewing skills and working with adults
  • Advanced accuracy in recording patient test responses
  • Advanced attention to detail in recording patient test responses, scoring of test results, numerous calculations for scoring and referring to normative data
  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships
  • Detail oriented including strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Demonstrated ability to function independently and interdependently with a diversity of health care providers in an interprofessional team
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
