Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Information Technology, the Indigenous Information Technology Intern will support the IT department in providing technical assistance, software development, and user support services. This role is designed to offer hands-on experience in both helpdesk and software development environments, while fostering cultural awareness and integrating Anishinabek values. The intern will work closely with IT professionals to gain practical skills and contribute to the organization's digital initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- An individual who is of Anishinabe ancestry from the Robinson Superior Treaty area with an understanding of Anishinabe history, culture, traditions, ceremonies and values is preferred.
- Must be a Highschool graduate.
- Ability to work flexible hours as determined by the Information Technology Manager, in relation to service requirements.
- Must be willing to travel to District offices.
- A valid Class “G” Driver’s license, access to a reliable personal vehicle, and $1,000,000 liability vehicle insurance.
- A criminal records check.
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
