Summary

ILAC International High School in Toronto is a new and exciting chapter and a part of ILAC Education Group. As a key member of the High School management team, The Vice Principal is responsible for supporting the Principal in fostering an inclusive, high-quality teaching and learning environment. The Vice Principal works with the Principal to oversees the day-to-day academic operations, student management and teacher development to ensure student success and academic excellence. Additionally, the VP assumes a significant role in ensuring regulatory compliance and academic integrity in the delivery of the Ontario Secondary School diploma.

In partnership with the Principal, The Vice Principal is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the School; ensuring that School policies, regulations and procedures are observed and that all students are supervised in a safe and welcoming learning environment. The Vice Principal serves as a liaison between the Principal, the schools administrative team and teachers and will work collaboratively to uphold the mission, and vision of the school. the In the absence of the Principal, the Vice-Principal assume the duties and responsibilities of the Principal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Principal in managing the administration of the school and in the completion of administrative functions
  • Assists with recruitment and selection of teachers and in assigning tasks, evaluating and mentoring teachers
  • Conducting regular performance reviews in collaboration with principal and ensuring academic excellence in teaching, curriculum development and education pedagogy
  • Supporting the Principal in ensuring orientation and professional development of teachers
  • Ensures the School is compliant with the Ontario Ministry of Education standards and the development of the School’s internal policies and procedures
  • Create an encouraging and engaging learning environment and strong teaching community
  • Address issues identified by parents and teachers in a professional and timely manner
  • Engages in regular meetings with the Principal and regular huddles with teachers
  • In collaboration with the Principal, assist with school meetings, marketing events for the school in partnership with ILAC teams

Technical Knowledge:

Experience with ONSIS, OUAC, OCAS and LMS systems (Moodle, Blackboard)

Qualifications:

  • Holds a valid Ontario Certificate of Teaching (OCT) and a member in good standing
  • A minimum of (5) years teaching experience in secondary school
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent education and experience required from a recognized college or university
  • Master’s Degree as an asset
  • Principal certification an asset
  • Experience with working with international students from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Valid criminal reference check with vulnerable sector components
