About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Senior Systems Architect (Contract) with a passion for DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure design and support. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge across infrastructure, cloud, automation, and systems design, with a proven ability to architect secure, scalable, and high-performing systems.
This role involves end-to-end ownership of infrastructure and application architecture—from planning and design to deployment and optimization—while collaborating across engineering, development, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities:

Design, build, install, configure, and troubleshoot infrastructure and enterprise applications across cloud and on-prem environments.

Develop secure, reliable environments and deploy infrastructure code using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Developers, Testers, Security, Operations) to resolve infrastructure and deployment challenges.
-
Serve as a technical lead in Agile and SAFe ceremonies (Kanban/Scrum), contributing to planning, estimation, and prioritization.

Participate in on-call rotations and support infrastructure during off-hours and weekends as needed.
-
Monitor and enhance system performance, availability, and efficiency across platforms.
-
Ensure security best practices are followed throughout system design and implementation.

Document designs, configurations, and operational procedures; provide training and mentorship to team members.

Lead or contribute to project management activities, including forecasting, risk mitigation, and scheduling.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

5+ years in systems architecture, infrastructure engineering, or DevOps roles.
-
PMP certification or equivalent project management experience.
-
Strong design, analysis, and systems planning capabilities.
-
Expertise in both Linux (RHEL) and Windows server administration, including security hardening, performance tuning, and high availability.

Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins, UrbanCode Deploy).
-
Proficient in Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or OpenStack.
-
Proficient in configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
-
Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
-
Expert-level networking knowledge, including security and performance optimization.
-
Administrative experience with tools such as Artifactory (Nexus/JFrog), GitLab, Jira, Confluence.

Familiarity with monitoring and logging systems (ELK Stack, Splunk, Zabbix, Prometheus).

Source control proficiency (Git or similar).

Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle).

Strong scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell, PHP, etc.).

Familiarity with Agile/SAFe software development processes.

Excellent documentation, training, and mentoring skills.

Demonstrated leadership and ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional team.
