Addiction Worker (25-0000616)
Bargaining Unit: Unifor SMSC
Status: TEMPORARY Part Time
Site: Crossroads Centre
Shifts: Days/Evenings/Nights including weekends
Rate of Pay: $29.82 - $30.45 per hour
Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor – Evening Live-in Treatment Program, or Clinical Supervisor of Crossroads Centre, the Addiction Worker is responsible for assisting in the delivery of treatment services for clients of Adult Addiction & Problem Gambling Programs. Key responsibilities include: providing information and direct enquiries for services, supporting and monitoring clients through entry and engagement in the continuum of treatment services, (pre, post, live-in treatment and aftercare supports) the facilitation of group activities, and ensuring the maintenance of security and upkeep of the facility and program resources.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:

Minimum of a two-year Diploma in Social Services or Addictions field
-
Minimum of one year experience working with Adult Addiction clients in a congregate setting or community-based programs
Skills/Abilities:
-
Working knowledge of addiction issues, crisis management and conflict resolution skills
-
Well-developed written and oral communication skills and excellent time management skills
-
Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
-
Good interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
-
Thorough understanding of all aspects of substance abuse and/or problem gambling
-
Demonstrated regular attendance at work
Asset:
Knowledge of working with DBT, CBT framework is an asset
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

Offers of employment made to external candidates are conditional upon providing proof of COVID-19 vaccination as per the SJCG Immunization Policy IMS-04-005 or proof of valid medical exemption, prior to the offered effective date.
