Summer Position – Agricultural Marketing Assistant
Location : Taber, AB (Hybrid – remote option available for the right candidate)
Start Date: June 16, 2025 | End Date: August 26, 2025
Hours: 30 hours/week | Monday to Thursday | Some evenings and occasional Saturdays for events
Position Type: Full-time (Canada Summer Jobs Program)
Wage: $16-18/hr* based on experience
About the Role
Are you a student looking to gain hands-on experience in agriculture, communications, and event planning?
Join our team this summer to support communications, outreach, and office coordination efforts within Alberta’s agriculture sector.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome guests and manage front desk reception duties
Assist with social media content creation, website updates, and video interviews
Support data entry, database updates, and document management
Help plan and deliver summer events like parades, Open Farm Days, and the annual golf tournament
Represent ASBG at community events and engage with stakeholders
Develop content for the annual social media calendar with support from the Membership & Communications Coordinator (MCC)

Requirements
Be eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs Program:
Between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment*
A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
Have a valid Social Insurance Number
Be legally entitled to work in Canada
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Be highly organized and self-motivated
Have an interest in agriculture, public relations, or marketing (an asset)
Be available for some evenings and occasional Saturday events
Must have a valid Class 5 license and a reliable vehicle as travel is required.
*No previous experience is required. International students are not eligible
Supervision & Support
You will be supported by the Executive Director and the Membership & Communications Coordinator
through regular one-on-one check-ins, skill development sessions, and access to professional resources.
