As a Surgical Processor, you must be able to comprehend, speak, read and write English fluently and be understood by others with whom they are in contact. Must not have skin allergies. Requires manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks using fine motor skills; must be in good health without limitation affecting standing and walking; must be able to lift 18 kilograms (40 lbs.) and push/pull carts weighing up to 114 kilograms (250 lbs.) Must be capable of continuous productivity in stressful situations. Ability to perform independently, showing sound judgment, flexibility and initiative. Ability to work closely with others in a cooperative manner. Must be service oriented, reliable and pay attention to detail.
Description:
As a Surgical Processor, you will be responsible for the decontamination, reassembly and sterilization of hospital supplies, equipment and surgical instrumentation. You will use the principles of aseptic technique and follow Universal Precautions in the prevention of Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI). You will ensure instrumentation and equipment is in proper working order, perform biological, chemical and quality assurance testing and report problems to the supervisor or designate.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program.
Completion of an Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification or Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum 6 months experience in an active care hospital setting, with a complete case cart system. Required experience with SPM Instrument Tracking System. Required experience with Getinge and Steris equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
As required.
