PROGRAM SUPPORT ASSISTANT (25-0000514)

Bargaining Unit: OPSEU
Status: Full Time
Site: LODGE ON DAWSON
Shifts: Days
Rate of pay: $26.57 - $29.67 per hour.

General Accountability:
Reporting to the Manager - Crisis & Outreach Programs, the Program Support Assistant is accountable to provide administrative, operational, and environmental support to the management and clinical staff of the Lodge on Dawson (environmental support refers to issues related to the building, equipment and furnishings within St. Joseph's Health Centre)

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in office administration or a related administrative program or equivalent combination of education and directly related work experience

  • Intermediate proficiency in word processing equipment and current software

  • Knowledge of departmental, hospital, and policies and pertinent legislation

  • Knowledge of health record practices and procedures

Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers, and customers

  • Ability to identify, understand, and meet the requirements of internal and external customers

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to initiate activities and anticipate needs of the program staff

  • Proficiency with office computer equipment and software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to record, transcribe, and edit minutes of meetings

  • Proficiency in spelling and grammar

  • Must maintain confidentiality of records, actions, and information

  • Demonstrated regular attendance at work

Conditions Of Employment:

  • Must undergo a successful Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check (CRJMC)
