About the role
Job Summary
We are seeking passionate and dedicated educators to join our team as French (bilingual) Elementary, Junior High, and High School Tutors (In-Person) in Kingston, Ontario.
The ideal candidate will foster a supportive and engaging learning environment that promotes academic growth and confidence in students. This role requires strong communication skills, creativity in lesson planning, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners, including students with special education requirements and persons with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards in Math, English, Social Studies, and Science.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and builds a love of learning.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support academic development.
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and team members to ensure a collaborative approach to learning.
- Utilize technology and online tools to support instruction and classroom management.
- Provide individualized tutoring support to students requiring additional assistance.
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs, including students with disabilities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education.
Experience
- Experience working with children and/or youth in teaching, tutoring, or mentoring roles.
- Familiarity with Google Suite is an asset but not required.
- Ability to understand curriculum expectations and learning outcomes.
Education
- Certified Teachers (B.Ed.) and/or
- Graduates with degrees such as BA, BSc, BKin, BPEd, BComm, BBA (other relevant accreditations considered)
- B.Ed. students and university students with relevant teaching or tutoring experience are also encouraged to apply.
