Home Support – Project Liaison
This is an excellent opportunity to support a locally based team in a large, non-profit organization located in Vancouver. GREATER VANCOUVER COMMUNITY SERVICES SOCIETY is a multi-service non-profit organization supporting the independence and well-being of the elderly, people with disabilities, and others who require support to retain or regain health and autonomy. Since 1972 the dedicated team at GVCSS has provided compassionate, effective and client-focused care that helps people retain their independence and remain living safely at home.
Job Summary:
The Home Support – Project Liaison plays a critical role in ensuring the effective and consistent delivery of high-quality home support services. This position requires a strong understanding of home support and community care, with a focus on client-centered service.
Reporting to the Home Support Manager, the position is responsible for managing staff schedules, addressing both short- and long-term staffing needs, and ensuring alignment with collective agreements. The role also involves responding to internal and external inquiries, maintaining accurate service records, and providing staff education and coaching through regular performance-based meetings.
In addition to operational responsibilities, the position analyzes data and prepares reports to support service improvements, funding proposals, and the monitoring of recruitment, retention, and staff performance. Acting as a key liaison with funders and stakeholders, the role contributes to project coordination, software system transitions, and strategic planning - providing both administrative and analytical support to enhance service quality, efficiency, and innovation in home support delivery.
Status :
This position is a full-time position. Funding for the position is determined on an annual basis, with renewal of funding occurring for April 1 st of each year.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Support the Home Support Manager by coordinating and maintaining staff schedules to ensure continuity of care, aligning with operational needs and collective agreements. Manage daily and long-term staffing plans, addressing absences and changes to maintain consistent coverage. Including stepping in to manage scheduling duties as required.

Respond to internal and external inquiries, feedback, and complaints, referring matters to appropriate Home Support team members when necessary. Maintain accurate and comprehensive records to support effective service delivery and ongoing evaluation.

Provide education and coaching to internal staff to ensure understanding and adherence to established guidelines and procedures. Participate in regular performance-based meetings to support ongoing staff development and improvement.

Maintain the required statistical data and contribute to performance evaluations of the staff. Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Produce and review monthly actual usage vs billing reports (discrepancy rates) and analyze reports to provide results to funder as per the Schedule 1 of the Home Support contract.

Develop and review reports required for GVCSS to meet innovation fund criteria and provide analysis-based insights and recommendations to support proposals or approved uses of these funds.

Provide information and recommendations for the improvement of quality and quantity of services beyond innovation fund criteria to the Home Support Manager.

Assist in the transition of Home Support software from Procura to Alaya Care, including learning the nuances of Alaya Care and recommending any additional changes for implementation post-transition.

Liaise with project funder representatives and represent GVCSS at joint project meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

Monitor, report and provide recommendations on staff turnover, recruitment, and retention, as per information provided by GVCSS Human Resources.

Act as a support to the Home Support Manager in implementing any changes to services for improvement, based on report outcomes.
Education and Work Experience Required:
· Post-secondary certificate in a related field, such as health care or administration, or
an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
· Two (2) years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education
and experience
· Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Experience with staff supervision, coaching, and performance support is preferred.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and comfortable working
with databases and reporting tools.
· Experience with home care software systems (e.g., Procura, Alaya Care) is an
advantage.
· Ability to organize diverse workload and establish priorities in a dynamic work
environment.
· Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
· Must be able to work flexible hours on occasion.
· Physical and mental ability to perform all duties of the position.
Employer Paid Benefits (Eligible after Probation Period):
- Massage Therapy: $1,000/year
- Psychologist Services: $900/year

Compensation for this position is $34.87/hr ($68,250/year) to $40.45/hr ($79,175/year) depending on experience. This is a Monday – Friday office-based position with daytime hours of 37.5 per week.
