Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking a collaborative, flexible, and results orientatedindividual to join our team as a Quality Patient Safety Consultant. The ideal candidate has experience in quality improvement, patient safety and human factors engineering as it relates to healthcare settings, is able to measure and analyze system, process, and outcome indicators for performance improvement, and possess strong facilitation and communication skills.

Who you are
You have worked in a healthcare quality and patient safety environment for a minimum of 5 years. You have a bachelor’s degree in a health affiliated discipline and/or advanced training in a health-related field. You have experience in continuous quality improvement by utilizing evidence-based practices to support healthcare quality, patient safety and clinical sustainability; developing and implementing patient experience surveys; measuring outcomes and evaluating the effectiveness of quality initiatives and programs; and in providing education, support and advice related to quality and patient safety. You have at least a 75% proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications (word, excel and outlook). You also have excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills. Certified in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training is an asset.
Must have valid New Brunswick drivers license.
Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level.
What you will do
- Facilitates and supports activities to achieve and maintain accreditation status with Accreditation Canada.
- Fosters an environment of continuous quality improvement and patient safety by promoting evidence-based practices and supporting Clinical Programs/Networks, Departments and Services.
- Assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of Horizon’s Quality Management Framework and quality improvement tools and processes.
- Identifies and uses data to measure the effectiveness of the quality of care and services provided to improve performance.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to conduct and facilitate prospective and retrospective process reviews.
- Must be able to travel to support Quality and Safety activities across the province.
- Overnight travel for work required on occasion.
