Copper Mountain Resort is a vacation destination located 75 miles west of Denver, Colorado in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Compensation And Benefits

  • Compensation: Proposed hiring rate of $2,384.62 to $2,563.46+ biweekly amount, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience. May be eligible for a discretionary bonus annually

Job Summary The Partnerships Manager develops and executes the event and activation strategies of resort and Woodward partners. This individual is responsible for the overall management and integration of all resort and Woodward partners and drives strategy for programming and activations. Working closely with Powdr Enterprises, this individual serves as the central point of contact for partners and facilitates the planning and execution of partner programing. The Manager helps lead special projects to create new programing and enhance current events. Additionally, explores ways to diversify offerings to create a competitive edge and attract new audiences.

Contributes to the day to day management of the Partnerships, Events & Marketing teams. This position plays a critical role in helping to determine best practices and process improvements to ensure the department’s optimal impact and effectiveness. The Manager will contribute to the strategic direction of the department and serve as a knowledgeable, cross-functional resource for colleagues.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Oversee management of sponsorship including partner relations, program development and oversee delivery of contractual obligations in coordination with Powdr Enterprises.
  • Serves as primary point of contact and client service manager to all partners.
  • Help to assess Resort programs and identify gaps or improvements for greatest impact. Participate in the development of special projects to enhance existing offerings.
  • Drives the creation of new partner activations, the planning process and fulfillment in conjunction with internal departments and exploration of operational components to execute upon plans.
  • Manage the planning process of partner events and competitions, creation of programing and animation, contract execution, budget management, staffing and evaluation.
  • Create and distribute necessary materials, including data sheets, for all partner events, programs and activations to include infrastructure, hospitality needs and operational plans. Responsible for the overall execution of the partner events, programs and activations.
  • Works with Sr. Marketing Manager to ensure all events are integrated into website, email marketing, social media, and other channels in a timely manner
  • Works in close collaboration with the marketing team to ensure all event, programming and partnership creative is developed in accordance with brand guidelines and requirements.
  • Obtain necessary partner reviews and approvals of creative executions
  • Oversees development and execution of Copper and partner branded promotional items.
  • Lead and execute operations of partner events and activations for summer and winter initiatives.
  • Proactively communicate partner event and programming details and ensure awareness across the resort and flawless execution.
  • Work with the Marketing team to ensure partner marketing and promotional needs are met and tracked.
  • Work to align events and initiatives to maximize exposure and mutual interests.
  • Creates and manages partner budgets and works in close collaboration with Events Manager to ensure budgets are appropriately tracked.
  • Flexible with hours and days of the week – must be willing to accommodate a fluctuating schedule in order to oversee events outside of “standard” business hours, this includes the ability to work holidays.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required
  • 5+ years of experience in client/account management or similar
  • Background that includes event execution, mountain resort experience and/or marketing would be considered a plus
  • Accomplished in effectively managing and executing multiple projects, accounts and partners simultaneously
  • Professional, positive and enthusiastic team player with strong interpersonal skills and support for broader company goals
  • Strong organizational, time management, analytical and decision-making skills with ability to multi-task and function in a fast-paced environment, often with changing priorities and goals.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in the most efficient manner based on business need and operational impact
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to maintain a flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays and long hours.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Advanced level skier/rider
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a criminal background check will be conducted after position is accepted. This background check will be done in accordance with standards enacted under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Preferred Experience And Special Skills

  • A working knowledge of marketing principles and best practices
  • 2+ years of event operations experience

About Copper Mountain Resort

Copper Mountain Resort is The Athlete's Mountain. Located in Summit County, Colorado, about 75 miles (121 km) west of Denver on Interstate 70, the resort opened in late 1971. Iit was owned and operated by Intrawest until Dec. 2009, when operations were transferred to Powdr Adventure Lifestyle Co.

The ski area features beginner slopes on the western side of the mountain, intermediate slopes in the center, and expert terrain on the eastern side. Advanced "double black diamond"​ slopes are located on the two peaks above 12,000 feet (Copper and Union Peaks), including four expert-only bowls: Copper Bowl, Union Bowl, Spaulding Bowl, and Resolution Bowl. Copper Mountain Ski Resort has 2,465 acres of in-bounds terrain under lease from the United States Forest Service, White River National Forest, Dillon Ranger District.
