Your Next Challenge Reporting to the Planning & Reliability Supervisor you will be part of the Mobile Maintenance Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Ensure maintenance resources are prioritized appropriately for downed equipment to minimize production losses and meet operational needs
  • Work alongside Mine Operations Dispatchers to assist in optimizing equipment utilization to improve adherence to the mine plan
  • Work with Mine Maintenance to coordinate the efficient execution of the weekly maintenance plan for all mobile equipment
  • Be the main point of contact for equipment operations and mobile maintenance
  • Effectively and concisely communicate data and critical information through reports to relevant personnel
  • Communicate with equipment operators to ensure equipment statuses and codes are accurately recorded
  • Give clear instructions via the two-way radio and phone system
  • Identify all emergency situations and demonstrate the correct and appropriate action (i.e., activate a code one) to be taken in each situation when they arise
  • Listen effectively while monitoring a multi-channel open pit operation
  • Validate and record mine site maintenance and operational data in WENCO, Surface Manager and SAP / JDE

What You Need To Succeed

  • Demonstrate a high level of energy, self-motivation, and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills including verbal and written.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to handle change & possess strong stress management skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Grade 12 Diploma or an equivalent or a combination of education and work experience
  • Engineering Technician Diploma / Degree or Engineering Degree is an asset
  • Three years of fleet management experience preferably in an open pit mining setting
  • Knowledge of conventional truck and shovel open pit mining operations or equivalent
  • Mechanical and/or operational knowledge of heavy mining equipment is an asset
  • Training with fleet management systems, such as Wenco, Maintenance Monitor, Minestar or Modular Mining
  • General understanding of maintenance planning and coordination
  • Knowledge of mining reliability practices to understand key equipment risks and how to avoid major equipment downtime
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Proficiency with SAP/ JDE – Maintenance Module (Notifications & Work Orders) is an asset
  • Experience working in remote areas for prolonged periods

  • Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine
  • Accommodation and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
