About the role

The Domestic Logistics Coordinator (DLC) is a crucial operations execution role within High Liner Foods, dedicated exclusively to North American transportation. The DLC is responsible for tactical management and decision-making within High Liner Foods' supply chain to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation execution.

Responsibilities Provide comprehensive logistics services to optimize service and cost, including:

  • Build and plan customer loads
  • Select and tender loads to carriers while adhering to routing guide compliance
  • Prioritize appointment scheduling requirements
  • Understand customer compliance requirements and communicate all necessary information to carriers to avoid fines/fees
  • Successfully plan multi-stop loads and optimize truck utilization
  • Adhere to freight budget
  • Track load execution against relevant milestones
  • Obtain status updates or documents from carriers
  • Identify risks to successful execution and recommend solutions
  • Inform relevant stakeholders of status updates
  • Review and decide on next steps for freight payment discrepancies or accessorial fees
  • Utilize, maintain, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend improvements
  • Evaluate decisions impacting freight costs for High Liner Foods
  • Develop and maintain successful relationships with carriers/brokers
  • Participate in on-call support rotation or holiday coverage plans as required by account assignment
  • Perform other tasks and activities as assigned

Qualifications And Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree (Supply Chain Management or related field) or 5+ years of relevant experience considered and asset.
  • Experience with supply chain software (BluJay/E2 Open TMS and JD are considered assets)
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional carrier-facing experience is highly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others without hierarchical power
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and competency in presenting recommendations
  • Transportation management experience (TL, LTL, and/or IM)
